Botox Injection

Injectables

Injectables are the highest demanded anti-aging, cosmetic treatments for men and women. They are used for a variety of purposes, from adding volume and reducing wrinkles, to sweat control and migraine therapy. Injectables can be broken into three categories: fillers, neuromodulators, and collagen stimulators.

Fillers

Facial Fillers are huge on the market at this time. Popular brands at Kansas Surgical Arts include Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse, Juvederm, and Belotero. They are made of differing polymers and are used to scaffold or improve the appearance of the face. We use them to increase volume, diminish shadows, and to return the face to a more aesthetic and youthful look. Aging, gravity, and sun damage can all contribute to lines and wrinkles that appear over time. With the use of neuromodulators and facial fillers, we have the amazing capacity to perform “Liquid Face Lifts.” Come in for your free consultation and meet with our injection staff. We want to give you the results you are wishing for. Some of our favorite injection areas to improve with fillers include the cheeks, nasolabial folds/laugh lines, lips, lines around the mouth, under-eye ‘bags’ and the lower face and jowls. These fillers also work very well for scars and fine lines from smiles and crow’s feet.

The treatment takes about 30 minutes to an hour and has very little down time. We have different anesthetic agents available if needed and many of the procedures include lidocaine in the syringes. Typical side effects include bruising and minimal soreness following the appointment.

Neuromodulators

Fine lines and wrinkles form over time as facial muscles contract. Neuromodulators can help soften these by blocking nerve impulses, preventing the contraction and causing temporary paralysis of the muscle. We offer two products, Botox and Dysport. The most frequently treated areas include the glabellar lines (furrowed brow), crow’s feet, and forehead lines. The product is administered by injection into these areas with a very fine needle. The discomfort is minimal and commonly compared to a bug bite. The most common side effects are bruising and swelling, which can be covered with makeup. Any more serious side effects are extremely rare, when administered professionally, but can be discussed at the time of your consultation. Results can be expected in 3-10 days and usually last 4-6 months.

Collagen Stimulator - Sculptra

The last category of cosmetic injectables is collagen stimulators. The product Sculptra is designed to dissolve facial wrinkles by restoring the underlying structure of the skin. It is frequently used to correct shallow to deep wrinkles and folds as well as deficits related to bone density loss. Suitable treatment areas often include the temporal region, cheeks, deep folds between the nose and the mouth (nasolabial folds, also called smile lines), the lines framing your mouth (marionette lines), and chin wrinkles. This treatment works gradually to create natural and long lasting results. For best results, most patients receive a series of about three treatments over the course of a couple of months; our highly trained staff will help you determine the best treatment plan for you at the time of your appointment or consultation. Progressive, visible results appear within a few weeks of each treatment and have shown to last as long as two years or more. Side effects are similar to other injectable products with little downtime and a chance of bruising and swelling.
