Many people think that wrinkles are something reserved for your thirties and beyoud, but according to new studies, many 20-somethings are now considering a cosmetic trend known as “preventative Botox.”
According to research, frown lines, crows’ feet and expression wrinkles are due to repetitive folding of the skin, people have relaized that by injecting earlier, you can keepthem from happening in the first place, rather than attempting to fix them after they’ve developed. Slowing down the use of these muscles early in adult life will prevent lines from evolving.
The Right Time to Start
The earliest one should start depends on what point they begin to notice or are troubled by frown lines, forehead lines, etc. Botox is FDA approved and available for aptients 18 years and older. The odd are low that you could have built up enough lines to worry about younger than 25. Although, research does show that using Botox as a preventative treatment is typically seen starting around the age 25.
Botox comes at a high price. To avoid the expense and the overall need of Botox, from a young age take on practices of protecting your skin from the sun by applying ample amounts of sunscreen, wearing a hat while outside, getting plenty of rest and participating in stress-relieving acitvities. Botox mixed with a healthy lifestyle can reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Some people with Botox can actually look older. According to research, it’s because their face has seen a few too many needles. Overuse of the drug can lead to atrophy the muscles. This can be noticeable around the eyes, where the face can appear inadvertently aged, despite the lack of wrinkles.
