Dr. Stephanie Oberhelman completed her medical training at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and her surgical training in the Mercy Catholic Health System in Philadelphia. During that time, she was awarded Laparoscopic Resident of the Year. Dr. Oberhelman continued to improve upon her skills while attending Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York, New York, MCP Hahnemann University at Philadelphia, PA, and Houston Northwest Medical Center in Houston, Texas working with some of the finest physicians in the country. Dr. Oberhelman is certified in facial and cosmetic surgery by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. Settling down in Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Oberhelman has dedicated her practice to excellence in patient care.
Dedicated to educating other professionals, she was honored with the St. Luke’s Physician Recognition Award and was recognized in the AOA Mentor Hall of Fame. She is a respected national presenter and a Clinical Assistant Professor of General Surgery, instructing at both Kansas City University Medicine and Biosciences and at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Recognizing the need for specialized post-bariatric and post-weight loss patient care, Dr. Oberhelman underwent an extensive fellowship in cosmetic surgery. During this one-year fellowship, she was trained in all aspects of cosmetic surgery and procedures making her Wichita’s only cosmetic fellowship trained surgeon. Dr. Oberhelman leverages her vast experience in general surgery, trauma, and critical care with the unique medical concerns of cosmetic surgery to obtain pleasing cosmetic results through medical supervision.
