Sclerotherapy: A minimally invasive vein treatment

Sclerotherapy is meant for cosmetic purposes to fade the look of spider, reticular or varicose veins. A great same-day procedure, the procedure involves a foam-like solution injected into the vein and takes 20 to 40 minutes. This treatment is minimally invasive and does not require any anesthesia. It is considered the gold standard treatment of choice for spider veins.

After treatment, compression stockings or bandages should be worn over the treated area for one to three weeks. This helps prevent the formation of superficial bruising and maximizes results. Eventually, the vein will become scar tissue and disappear. Try to avoid any sun exposure of the area for two weeks following. Most can return to everyday activities immediately following the procedure.

Feel as if you are a candidate for sclero? Call us to schedule you appointment or consultation today. Fall and winter is the time for treating superficial vessels as it takes time for the vessels to entirely fade and to wear the compression stockings. Now is the time, our end-of-the-year spots will fill-up very fast!
